The startup festival ViennaUP’22 turned the federal capital into an epicentre for startups for eight days at the end of May. More than 10,000 participants from 67 countries attended the multi-day startup event virtually or in person and got together at more than 60 events, where they could experience Vienna’s startup scene live. The programme focused on not only entrepreneurship, but also research, networking and the Viennese lifestyle.
The AIL took part in Connect Day 2022, organised by the “Austria Wirtschaftsservice” AWS and the Austrian Research Promotion Agency FFG, where we exchanged ideas with startups from Austria and around the world. It’s remarkable how much attention is paid by the startup scene to the areas of food, energy and agriculture. Young, high-quality companies from the field of life sciences were represented in large numbers – and were popular discussion partners for investors.
In addition to digital business models, another focus was sustainability. In view of ESG investment criteria, investors report increased interest in sustainable startups.
Already in its seventh year, the AIL continues to attract great interest from startups around the world and is seen as a strong partner in the regional ecosystem. We look forward to successfully supporting our partners further as they continue to grow.
