Farmhedge – the digital marketplace that is already available in 25 Lagerhaus cooperatives
Farmhedge enables farmers to obtain information on relevant spot offers provided by their Lagerhaus and to offer their own produce in a matter of seconds. 25 out of 38 Austrian cooperatives and their customers are already convinced by the advantages of this AIL alumni.
Back in 2017, the Agro Innovation Lab Acceleration Program and three pilot Lagerhäuser marked the start of Farmhedge’s success story in Austria. Today, two years later, Farmhedge has developed into the number one digital communication channel of the Lagerhaus Group. In 25 out of 38 cooperatives farmers have the opportunity to convince themselves of Farmhedge’s advantages: They can both receive customized offers directly on their smartphone and profit from the possibility of selling their own produce – very easily, in just a few clicks.
One decisive factor behind Farmhedge’s stunning performance is clearly its great user-friendliness for both farmers and their suppliers. “Farmhedge allows me to create customized offers and to reach out to all the right customers in just a few seconds. And what’s more, I can track their response in real time!” comments Rudolf Grubauer, Head of Agricultural Business at Lagerhaus Hollabrunn.
“We are planning to expand Farmhedge’s reach over the course of the coming months, and nationwide availability is, naturally, our ultimate goal,” states Claudia Mittermayr, Head of Farming Innovations (RWA), who has overseen the collaboration between Farmhedge and RWA and the Lagerhaus Group since the end of last year.
