This year’s edition of our startup project the Bio Innovation Challenge is in full swing. We’re delighted that 14 cooperation partners have now joined us on the road to innovation in organic crop protection. It will be exciting to bring innovative and new ideas together with established entrepreneurs, researchers and experts in the field.
The application deadline for the competition was 31st March. Once again we scouted the market intensely in order to reach as many potential candidates as possible. Together with our partners from the startup ecosystem we marketed the competition worldwide as well as contacting many companies directly to encourage them to apply.
By the closing date, more than 60 startups, spinoffs, more established innovative companies and researchers from 21 countries had submitted their ideas to the Bio Innovation Challenge. 20 of these high-quality submissions were selected for the next round. Detailed individual discussions are currently taking place with our experts as they evaluate the best applicants. Over the summer, the technologies and products will be examined further and intensive testing carried out.
The best submissions can look forward to an invitation to the Bio Innovation Days 2022 in November, where they will have the opportunity to present their solutions to an exclusive international audience as well as the chance to win attractive prizes. We will then pool everyone’s strengths as we jointly test products and develop project structures further.
