For the past few months, we have been working with our colleagues in the RWA plant protection department on a new project – microorganisms from Switzerland.
MycoSolutions, a spin-off of the Swiss research establishment Empa St. Gallen, is working on the research and production of Trichoderma. Together with colleagues from the RWA plant protection department we are testing the effect of this fungus, which could be used as a natural adversary of a range of plant pathogens. In our initial tests, we are investigating the potential of this application in the laboratory as a means of verifying the presence of the desired antagonistic effect and examining its impact on the biological system of a plant or under field conditions.
Potential future applications could include viticulture. We are curious to see how this project develops and will keep you informed in the future.
